Trade mentor
Before you place an order, walk through it here. The mentor asks the questions a careful trader asks, adds up what the round trip will cost, shows the move the price must make before you break even, and, for leveraged products, what the EU rules for private clients mean for you. It does not tell you whether to trade.
The trade in figures

- Commissions (buy and sell)–
- Spread (half on each side)–
- Currency conversion (both ways)–

Profit or loss by exit price
After all round-trip costs, for the quantity you entered. Where the line crosses zero is your break-even.

The rules behind the mentor
Best execution. Under MiFID II (Directive 2014/65/EU, Article 27) your broker must take all sufficient steps to obtain the best possible result for you, and must give you a confirmation of every executed order. If you give a specific instruction, the broker follows it and is released from that duty to the extent of the instruction.
Leverage for private clients. Since 2018 (ESMA Decision (EU) 2018/796, since made permanent by national regulators) CFDs sold to private clients in the EU are limited to leverage of 30:1 for major currency pairs, 20:1 for other pairs, gold and major indices, 10:1 for other commodities and indices, 5:1 for shares and 2:1 for crypto-assets. Providers must close positions when the account's equity falls to half the margin required, must apply negative balance protection, and must show how many of their private clients lose money.
Settlement. Shares and bonds bought on an EU exchange settle two business days after the trade (T+2). Until then the money and the securities are in transit.
