About the figures
The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) is measured the same way in every EU country, which makes the countries comparable; the ECB's 2% target refers to the euro-area figure. National measures (Germany's CPI, France's IPC) can differ slightly. The euro-area flash estimate comes early in the month after; country detail follows mid-month.
